Super Middleweight Jerry Odom, 168lbs of Bowie, MD crunched Julius Jackson 168lbs, of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands with a big right that ended matters at 1:57 of round three. Odom improved to 14-2-1 (13) while Julius Jackson looks to regroup at 19-2 (15).
In the first bout of the night Brent Venegas III, 119lbs, of Elk Grove, CA, made a successful professional debut with a second round demolition of Christian Foster, 123lbs, of Alexandria, VA. Venegas scored a knockdown in round one and when rushing in to follow-up he got caught and dropped with a counter by Foster. Unhurt, Venegas gathered himself and continued, scoring a second knockdown before the close of the first. In the second he closed the distance on Foster quickly and Ref. Danny Schiavone called off the bout with Foster taking punishment at 1:37 of round 2. Venegas is now 1-0 (1) as a professional while Foster backs into the pro ranks at 0-1.
Bantamweight Leroy Davila 118lbs of
Welterweight Jimmy Williams 145lbs, of
defeated Antonio Chaves Fernandez 148lbs of New Haven, CT Brokton, MA by six round decision. After landing a crackling right hand in round one, Williams spent much of the bout hoping to repeat his success and he did sporadically when able to crack through the awkward ambidextrousness of his opponent. After six rounds the judges saw it 60-54 and 58-56 x 2 all in favor of Jimmy "Quiet Storm" Williams who improves to 12-0-1 (5). Antonio Fernandes' record dips to 7-27-3 (2).
