PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Oct. 6th, 2016) -- Undefeated
Worcester, Mass., junior welterweight Jamaine
Ortiz puts his perfect record
on the line at Twin River Casino later this month in a four-round bout against
Durham, N.C., vet Isaiah
Robinson.
Fighting
for the first time since mid-July, Ortiz (2-0, 2 KOs) returns to face the
sturdy Robinson (3-3, 2 KOs) in one of nine fights on CES Boxing's Friday, Oct. 21st, 2016 showcase, headlined by the eight-round junior middleweight
main event between fellow Worcester native Khiary
Gray (13-1, 10 KOs) and
Chicago's Chris Chatman (14-5-1, 5 KOs).
A
decorated amateur who competed in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in Reno, Nev.,
Ortiz last fought July 15th when
he stopped Quebec's Kimmy
St-Pierre in the third round
of their scheduled four-round bout.
The
20-year-old right-hander is one of five Worcester fighters on the Oct.
21st card, including
Gray, who defends his Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) Northeast and
International Titles just three months after suffering his first career loss in
a nationally-televised bout against Ian
Green.
