Twitter Recap

Last night The Grand Theater at Fox Tower was the site of Roc Nation Sports' second boxing promotion, a seven bout card featuring two title fights broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports 1. As is our tradition here, if we covered a fight live and tweeted details from ringside we like to post a recap later for any of you anti-social media types. Here is a chronological recounting of our live-tweets from ringside, made slightly more grammatical and a little bit less hashtaggie.

1st bout coming up shortly #RocNationSports

Bout 1, Super-Middles, 4rds, Roberto Lopez, 166lbs, of Vineland, NJ vs. Quick Nick Valliere, 163lbs of Tom's River NJ #ThroneBoxing #FNF

Valliere, a southpaw gets right to work behind busy right hook to head & belly of Lopez, no feeling out round for these 2, they're slugging

wouldn't think it from his stocky, just-woke-up-on-a-Saturday-AM build but Valliere is a slick southpaw & rips Lopez w/ long left uppercuts

third round has really slowed down. first two rounds were a very fast pace for these 2. Valliere in charge

lots of leaning on each other & grappling in that 3rd but Quick Nick still did enough to win it. Last round coming up will he get a shut-out

Bout 1 in the books, Nick Valliere dominates Roberto Lopez. First 2 rounds were very strong, he faded a bit but should win this 4rds to none

the scorecards read 40-36 & 39-37 x 2 all in favor of Quick Nick Valliere who improves to 5-0 (2). Roberto Lopez slips to 4-9-2 (1) #Boxing

Bout 2, Middles, 4 rds, Khiary Gray-Pitts 158lbs of Worcester, MA vs Pedro The BEAST Gonzalez #RocNationSports
160lbs of Springfield, MA

that was quick! Khiary Gray-Pitts got right to work attacking the body of Gonzalez & a hard left hook to the waist ended things at 1:01

Khiary Gray-Pitts is on a 1st round KO streak, this makes 4 in a row as he climbs to 7-0 (5). Pedro Gonzalez goes home at 2-2 (2) #RocNation

Looks like the @QStormJ28 bout was scratched. Bummer! was looking forward to it. So we've got 7 bouts from @FoxwoodsCT tonight, not 8

little bit of an intermission here, 5 bouts to go tonight

Bout 3, Junior Welters, 4 rds, Sonny Fredrickson, 140lbs, of Toledo, Ohio versus Ramon Ellis, 139lbs, of Philadelphia, PA #RocNationSports

Fredrickson pelting Ellis with lead rights, Ellis engaging gamely but getting badly outgunned. Fredrickson knocked out his mouthpiece in 1st

Fredrickson in charge in this one, Ellis' trainer shouting for him to stay outta corners, Fredrickson blasts his way off ropes with barrage

Ellis' corner asking for jabs but only Fredrickson is delivering in that department. they touch gloves to start the fourth #RocNationSports

again Ellis loses the mouthpiece while under fire, hard to tell if it got blasted out or if he wanted a breather, he's taking fire again

Fredrickson probably won that last round 10-8, he nailed Ellis with a left hook just before the bell that had Ellis reeling #RocNationSports

All three judges scored it 40-36 in favor of Sonny Fredrickson, now 8-0 (5). Ellis dips to 4-15-2 (2)

Sonny Fredrickson says he'll be back in the ring in May or June in a 6 rounder. Had this one been scheduled for six it wouldn't have made it

Bout 4, Jr. Middles, Chris Gray, 152lbs, of Vero Beach, FL versus Dusty Hernandez Harrison, 153lbs, of Washington, DC #RocNationSports

Chris Gray's best punch landed after the bell to end rd 2, hard to look good against a guy like this. Hernandez-Harrison needs to catch him

if Hernandez-Harrison can double that looping right maybe the second shot will score after the first brings Gray's gloves down...maybe

Hernandez-Harrison winning easy, Gray has started punching but is mostly in survival mode.

Gray's extremely hard to hit cleanly. Hernandez-Harrison throwing big shots but a lot are partially blocked, fall just short of doing damage

big round for Hernandez-Harrison in the fifth, Gray was stunned but recovered. Hard body shots by Hernandez-Harrison but Gray's still here

here in the 7th Hernandez-Harrison is letting Gray lead and that's creating openings; crowd getting annoyed with all the circling, chasing

last round coming up, Gray has no hope of winning a decision but he's made it clear he is going to finish this on his feet #RocNationSports

Gray celebrating and the crowd really let's him hear their displeasure. Not sure he's happy he thinks he won; he's happy he lasted the limit

scorecards for Hernandez-Harrison vs. Gray, Unanimous Decision 80-72 x 3, all in favor of @Dusty30th who improves to 26-0 (13) #RocNation

@FOXSports1 is LIVE! Bout 5, Welters, 10rds, Ray Robinson, 145lbs, of Philadelphia, PA versus Sherzodbek Alimjanov, 146lbs, of Washington DC

Ray Robinson pecking @ Alimjanov with the southpaw jab, lots of sharp-shooting from Robinson, Alimjanov trying but failing to close distance

Robinson landing the right hook hard in the second, a little tedious as the work out the angles though, crowd frustrated. Alimjanov pressing

Alimjanov really having trouble trying to get close, Robinson isn't landing anything with authority but he's scoring & in control

Alimjanov down in the fourth, hard to tell if it was more of a slip from where i'm sitting

Alimjanov managed to sneak some chopping straight rights to the chin of Robinson though not enough to claim an entire round #RocNationSports

6th was what this crowd was waiting for. Both guys had their moments, Robinson is all long lunging left uppercuts & straight punches while..

Alimjanov is finally having some success with short chopping bolts. Lots of swelling & redness around his eyes

That final minute of the 7th saw Robinson landing heavily with both hands; Alimjanov seems pretty durable but took a lot of punches that rd

Robinson senses Alimjanov weakening and is opening up on him in the 8th. No more touching him with straight shots, he's punishing Alimjanov

Last round coming up, Robinson in complete control, Alimjanov needs a knockout, maybe more than a knockout at this point

Robinson feeds Alimjanov a left uppercut just about every time he comes forward

Ray Robinson put in a solid performance, probably a shut-out through ten but there's no rush in adding "SUGAR" to his name, not yet. #Boxing

scorecards are 98-91, 99-90 and 100-89 all in favor of The New Ray Robinson who improves to 20-2 (9) while Alimjanov drops to 22-3 (13)

Ray Robinson says he feels more comfortable in the ring than talking to media. He sure looked focused, at ease & in control vs. Alimjanov

Main Event is coming now, Felix Cora Jr, 198lbs, of Galveston, TX versus @MuratGassiev, 197lbs, of Vladikavkaz, Russia #RocNationSports

Trainer Abel Sanchez in the corner of cruiserweight Murat Gassiev

Gassiev looping hard lefts to the mid-section of Cora; Cora spent much of the round circling, pawing with the jab

Gassiev really blasting away with the left hook. Lots of redness around the right eye of Cora & large welt on his right side near his waist

Cora came to life in that 3rd, landing right hooks with his back to the ropes. Gassiev still doing more damage but he ate several shots

Cora looks tired, Gassiev landing heavily. If this goes the distance and keeps up in this way it's gonna be a rough Saturday for Felix Cora

Cora has no defense whatsoever for Gassiev's left hook. Gassiev adding the uppercut to the weaponry he's bashing Cora with in the 5th

Cora is landing at times but he's getting punished for it. Gassiev's really administering a beating

Gassiev really opening up to start the 7th, Ref. Callis watching closely when Cora lands big and turns the tables momentarily

Cora is gonna need some heavy duty aspirin tonight. Not a lot happened in the 8th and Gassiev still got hammered

Gassiev blasts Cora into the ropes Calllis starts 2 intervene, lets them continue & Cora's hurt again prompting stoppage at 1:10 of rd 9

Wellington Arias Romero, 141lbs, of Newburgh, NY fighting the walkout bout here vs Matt Doherty, 141lbs out of Salem MA,

Romero probably ahead 2-0 but Doherty is posing some problems, he's awkward, motivated and throwing with bad intentions.

Romero opened up with both hands on Doherty while he was cornered but the scrappy kid from Salem battled back. 4th & final rd coming up

That's his second prizefight in 7 days for Matt Doherty, win or lose that's an impressive start to a pro career

scorecards are 40-36 x 3 in favor of undefeated Wellington Arias Romero, now 6-0-1 (3) while Doherty goes to 1-1 (1)

That's all from here, Fight Fans!! Thanks for following along & especially for all your favorites & re-tweets!!
