Rosa versus Hinojosa headlines Broadway Boxing's Summer Series debut at Foxwoods June 30
by Alex Pierpaoli

New Haven's Luis KO King Rosa returns to the ring on Thursday night at Foxwoods Resort Casino in an eight round super bantamweight bout which launches a three event summer series by promoter DiBella Entertainment. The New York based promoter's Broadway Boxing series will spend a little time in the Nutmeg State with Rosa-Hinojosa on June 30th, followed by another show on July 21st which will feature Shelito Vincent and a final August date which will be announced later.

On Thursday night Luis Rosa faces Luis Hinojosa of the Dominican Republic in his second outing in twenty-sixteen. Rosa's last fight was an eight round unanimous decision win over German Meranz in January. Hinojosa fights for the first time in twenty-sixteen, his last fight was an eight round decision win over, coincidentally, a fighter named Luis Rosa, no relation. Hinojosa is 5'4' tall, twenty-nine years old and is 3-2 in his last five bouts, losing both by stoppage. His record is 28-9(17).

Luis Rosa recently graduated from New Haven's Gatweay College and is twenty-five years old. His record is 22-0(10) and he's currently ranked 10th in the IBF and 12th in the WBC.

Jennifer "The Bolivian Queen" Salinas faces Gina Chamie of Hungary in the co-featured eight round attraction. (We recently spoke to Salinas and her partner Shelito Vincent, who fights in the next installment of the Broadway Boxing Summer Series on July 21st.)

Myquan Williams of East Hartford fights for the second time as a pro in a 4-round welterweight contest. And New Haven's Fighting Foster Brother's of the Boxing In Faith Gym that headliner Luis Rosa calls home are also scheduled to box four rounders on the undercard. Charles Foster is undefeated in ten fights as a light heavyweight while William Foster III is undefeated in two fights at super feather.

Plus two other bouts featuring regional talent are scheduled.

Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com and www.foxwoods.com or by visiting the Foxwoods' Box Office or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.

Doors open at 6:00 pm, first bout at 7.
