On this day in fistiana at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Mike Tyson scored a controversial TKO over Donovan Razor Ruddock when Ref. Richard Steele halted the contest in round 7. Interestingly, this fight took place one year and one day after the far more controversial stoppage of Meldrick Taylor versus Julio Cesar Chavez. For many fight fans, the two technical knockouts remain an albatross around the neck of Hall of Fame Referee Richard Steele.
